In work, what's the main difference between a "performance" and a "result?"

One's performance is the way one conducts themselves, what one achieves over time, and how they handle projects and communication, sometimes based on a number of results. A "result" is the outcome of something. So, a result doesn't take into account the processes involved, only what it produces; the outcome. Ex: My exam results will be released tomorrow. Ex: Your son has been performing really well in school this term.
