As an adjective, "rotten" has two meanings! The first, as it is here, means very bad or terrible. The second is that something is decaying or has gone off. Ex: The eggs in the fridge are rotten. We need to throw them away. Ex: He's a rotten person. Ex: Cheating on the test was rotten of you to do.
