To "think on one's feet" means to come up with a solution to a problem quickly. "On one's feet" emphasises that you have to think within the situation- or while on your "feet" doing the job or task. Ex: I had to think on my feet when we ran out of dessert at the wedding. I called the fast food place nearby for some ice cream. Ex: You need to be able to think on your feet in the film industry. You never know what could go wrong at any moment.
