To "get through" something means to get past a difficult or testing period or experience. You go from the beginning of the experience, through to the end of it. It can also mean to contact someone on the phone, or to use or finish a large amount of something within a short amount of time. Ex: I got through the semester without failing a class! Ex: We got through a whole bottle of soda in one night. Ex: I couldn't get through to her on the phone.
