What's "Every day you make me proud, but today you get a card" mean? I don't quite get what this is trying to say.

Native speaker’s answer

Rebecca

This is a bit of humour on the behalf of the speaker. He's expressing here that "everyday I'm proud of you, but today [is a special day] so I got you a card [to let you know]." It's a bit of sarcastic, cynical humor as the greeting intentionally sounds a bit casual or insincere. Typically, cards are only given to others on special occasions.
