student asking question

Is it appropriate to say "articulate" in this context? Because it's a synonym of "express," and I think it somewhat sounds awkward. Wouldn't it be more natural to say synonyms of "explain" or "summarize?"

I see what you're saying! It is, in fact, appropriate to say "articulate" in this sentence. "Articulate" means to put into words, perhaps for the first time. "Explain" or "summarize" might mean that the words have been said before, and you're making it shorter. And "expressing" could be done without words, too! Ex: Try and articulate your feelings. Ex: I summarized what the meeting was about in this document.
