"Crap" can mean something of poor quality, or it means excrement. It's also profanity. It's similar to "shit" but is considered a more mild profanity. However, it is still deemed offensive to some people - it just depends on the people. You can also use it as an exclamation. Here's it's used in reference to a messy situation. Ex: Oh crap. I forgot to bring my wallet. Ex: Please sort the crap out in your room, Jane. We have guests coming over. => messy room.
