Is it common to name someone in plural form?

You wouldn't really consider this plural form. If you're talking about the thing of a bubble, then yes, it is plural. But her name is literally "Bubbles." It's like having a name with an "s" at the end, such as "James," "Davis," and so on. I would also say it flows easier since when you're talking about something in general, you usually use the plural form. That being said, when talking about someone you don't know well, it is okay to use "they" or "them" when referring to them. That's pretty common in conversation. Ex: All the bubbles popped. Ex: My fish's name is bubbles. Ex: Hey, Davis. what are you doing after work? Ex: They left their umbrella at the restaurant. => singular person
