I've often seen the word "high-risk" combines with "high-return." But what does "high-risk and high-return" mean?

"High-risk" is an adjective used to describe things that are high in risk, meaning that if failed, there will be big consequences or damage. Meanwhile, "high-return" means that the returns, or gains, that one gets from something are high. Ex: This is a high-risk spy operation. If we get caught, we will probably die. Ex: This high-return business deal has made our company succeed.
