I'd say a slogan is more media, brand, or company focused. It's usually short and catchy, such as KFC's "Finger-lickin' good". Whereas, a motto encapsulates one's values. It's a way to live life. Companies also have mottos. But it describes more of their purpose and function. Ex: I've decided to embrace Nike's slogan: "Just do it!" So, I'm starting a business. Ex: Our company motto is "better together". We have a big focus on teamwork. Ex: My life motto is: be kind to people, and they'll be kind to you.
