"Entrust" means to assign a role or responsibility to a person or to give them something to look after and protect. It does involve "trust" because you're "trusting" the person to do that job or task. If someone "entrusts" something, it usually means they won't be supervising a lot or checking in much, so they have to trust the other person to do it. Ex: Can I entrust you with taking care of my dog this weekend? Ex: My boss entrusted me with hosting the event, so I have to be there early.
