What is different between "flick" and "press"?

"Flick" usually means a short, quick movement upwards or downwards. It is usually used in reference to a switch, which is the case here. A "press" means to apply pressure to something, usually a button of some kind. Ex: Press this button to stop the wheels. Ex: Flick on the light switch.
