"Sidetracked" means to become distracted or to lose focus from something you were focusing on before. You can use this word whenever you are distracted away from a task that you should be focusing on. Ex: I need to finish my homework but I keep getting sidetracked from messages on my phone. Ex: I got sidetracked during the interview and started telling stories. Ex: Sorry I'm late, I got sidetracked.
