Kiwi asks…
What is "drift"?
Answer from a Native speaker

Rebecca
"Drifting" is a technique used in racing cars or in competitions where the driver steers the front tires of their car the opposite way around a corner at a fast speed, causing the car to slide sideways as it turns. "Drifting" is an extreme sport and looks uncontrolled but requires a lot of control and is an effective way for race car drivers to turn while driving extremely fast.
