Kiwi asks…

In English-speaking countries, which is a more popular beverage? A coffee? Or tea?

Answer from a Native speaker

teacher

Rebecca

It really depends on the culture! I'd say "coffee" is definitely more American, and it's a kind of funny stereotype that the British love to drink Tea. I'm not too sure about other countries, but I guess it depends on the influence of cultures. Like, South Africans also prefer tea, but that's probably because they were colonized by the British. Ex: I'm going to England to have tea with the new King. Ex: Americans take their coffee very seriously.
