Kiwi asks…
Are "you guys" and "you" the same?
Answer from a Native speaker

"You" and "you guys" have a similar meaning but can be used very differently. "You" can be both singular or plural, used to refer to a person or a group of people. A lot of English speakers find it awkward to use "you" in the plural form, so "you guys" or "you all" is often used when addressing a group of more than one person. However, "you guys" is a bit more informal, so in more formal situations you should use "you all". Ex: Do you guys want to hangout this afternoon? Ex: It is a pleasure to meet you all.
