What does "Nazi" mean? Is it even an English word?
Answer from a Native speaker

"Nazi" is a German abbreviation for "National socialist" with the German pronunciation of "nati-" from "national", but the term is known throughout the world. A "Nazi" is a person part of the German fascist party controlling Germany from 1933 to 1945 under Adolf Hitler, or one who carries the same beliefs as the Nazis. Overall, it's not considered a good term. Ex: He was known as a Nazi war criminal. Ex: The Nazis used a lot of propaganda in their media. Ex: Neo-Nazi groups are becoming bigger these days. It's scary. => Neo-Nazi means "new Nazi."
