What's "stand in the way" mean?

If something or someone "stands in the way," it means that it or someone is preventing something from being achieved or preventing someone from doing something. Ex: Nothing's going to stand in my way anymore. Ex: Right now, my grades are standing in the way of me going to university. Ex: I won't stand in your way if you want to move countries.
