I don't quite understand the phrase "In whatever form that takes", what does "take" mean here?
"Takes" in this sentence means to manifest, to show, to form. When Emma says "in whatever form that takes" she means that she cannot live without love regardless of the kind of love: a romantic love, a love for a friend, a love for a family member, a love for a place or thing, or a love for an animal. Here is another example of "take" used similarly. Ex: I will accept the consequences no matter what form they take.
