Native speaker’s answer

Rebecca

A "lad" is a young boy or a young man. This is an older word to use, and it is used today most commonly in British English, although it is not super common. It is generally only used by older people. Ex: When I was a young lad, we didn't have internet. Ex: Come help me move this car, lads.
