La palabra here's the thingse suele utilizar para decir algo importante o información que se quiere enfatizar. Cuando se agrega but, significa que está tratando de decir lo contrario de lo que se dijo antes. Ejemplo: So, here's the thing. I need to get an A on my test this week. Otherwise, I won't get into Harvard. (La cuestión es que tengo que obtener Aen el examen de esta semana, o no podré ir a Harvard). Ejemplo: Jane invited me out for coffee. But here's the thing, I think it could be a date. (Jane me pidió que tomara un café, pero eso es lo que pensé, creo que esto es una cita). Sí: A: Aren't you happy you're moving because of your job? (¿No es agradable mudarse debido a tu trabajo?) B: I am. But here's the thing. I just got used to living here, and now I have to start all over again.
