What is the difference between "notable" and "famous"? If I use "famous", does it sound weird?

Good question! "Notable" means something is worthy mentioning or noticing, while "famous" means something or someone is well-known. While these two words do have slightly different definitions, it would not be weird to replace "notable" with "famous" here. "Famous" can replace "notable" if what or who you are talking about is well-known.
