In effetti, la orderqui dovrebbe essere intesa non come la parola in sé, ma come un'espressione di in order to. In order toè esattamente la stessa cosa di to, che significa fare qualcosa. L'unica differenza è che in order to è più formale ed educato. Esempio: You need to turn the knob in order to turn on the machine. (You need to turn the knob to turn on the machine.) Esempio: In order to graduate, I must pass all my exams. (To graduate, I must pass all my exams.)
