To "bawl one's eyes out" is an idiom that means to cry very hard, very loudly, or very uncontrollably. It is common to use but it is also very dramatic and only used when someone is crying very very hard. Ex: When we broke up I bawled my eyes out. Ex: She is bawling her eyes out over the bad news.
