"Call shotgun" is a very common expression that means that you plan to sit in the front seat of a car. You are telling the other passengers that the front passenger seat is yours and they cannot have it. It's usually said if there are more than just two people who will be in the vehicle. Here are a couple of examples: Ex: Oooh, we are going to get ice cream? I call shotgun! Ex: Let's go to the movies. Shotgun!
