In this video, "melancholy" means something similar to sad, sorrowful, mournful, or desolate. Although the speaker says "I know you've been melancholy" here, you can also say "I know you've been feeling melancholic" to express the same idea, as "melancholic" is the other adjective form of "melancholy." Ex: His painting had a very melancholic mood. Ex: She has been feeling a little melancholy lately.
