Does the word "trained" refer to a "professional" dancer? Or does it also include "intermediate" dancers as well?

It depends on what level the dancer is "trained!" Being "trained" in something means that you have been taught "professionally" how to do something, but being trained by professionals does not make you a "professional." If the training goes to an intermediate phase, then the dancer is a "trained intermediate dancer." If the training reaches a professional level, such as meeting a specific educational standard, then the "trained dancer" is considered a "professional." However, most times this is used, "trained" refers to being a professional. Ex: I've trained in first-aid. Ex: She's training, at the moment, to become a professional dancer.
