Being "trained" in something means that you have been taught "professionally" how to do something, but being trained by professionals does not make you a "professional." If the training goes to an intermediate phase, then the dancer is a "trained intermediate dancer." If the training reaches a professional level, such as meeting a specific educational standard, then the "trained dancer" is considered a "professional." However, most times this is used, "trained" refers to being a professional. Ex: I've trained in first-aid. Ex: She's training, at the moment, to become a professional dancer.
