Native speaker’s answer

Rebecca

You are correct. The speaker does say "I'm supposed to [x]," and you can use "I am supposed to [x]" also. Ex: I'd love to chat, but I'm in a rush. I'm supposed to be at work within the hour. Ex: The package was supposed to arrive yesterday, but it appears to have been delayed.
