Here, "get one's hands on" means to find or get something. "Hands-on" is also an adjective that means to get directly involved with something or to intervene - one is closely involved with organizing and managing something. Ex: I've been trying to get my hands on a couple of BTS concert tickets, but I haven't succeeded yet. => trying to find and get Ex: She'll never get her hands on my dairy.
