You could say "when the sun comes up," or "when the sun rises" as it slowly rises from the horizon. Ex: It's so beautiful when the sun rises in the morning. = It's so beautiful when the sun comes up in the morning. Ex: The sun's up and so is everyone else, you should have some breakfast. => past dawn
