"Body language" is the way you communicate non-verbally using a variety of gestures, eye contact, and movement. A "gesture" is a movement, usually of one's hand or head, to express an idea. A "gesture" is one way to express "body language." Ex: He gestured a wave from the car before driving off. Ex: Her body language was closed-off and awkward. And she kept avoiding eye contact with me.
