Native speaker’s answer

Rebecca

"Relic" is a noun, and it means an object from the past. It can also be a part of the body or clothing that belonged to a holy person. It isn't used too commonly unless used in the context of referencing a historical item, and could be considered quite formal. Ex: They have a collection of those relics in the museum. Ex: It was a relic of a saint in the 12th century. Ex: This statue is a relic of our painful history.
