"Come across" means to meet or find something or someone by chance. It can also mean behaving in a way that makes people think of you in a certain way. Ex: On my walk, I came across this old abandoned house and took photos. => found by chance Ex: He came across a group of people bird-watching in the park. Ex: As I was cleaning my room, I came across some old pictures. Ex: She came across as kind of upset when I introduced myself.
