To be "multi-dimensional" means to have multiple aspects or facets. When speaking about people, it means to have many different sides. The actress here has used "multi-dimensional" to express that she wanted to portray her character in a way that was lifelike and interesting, to show off the many sides of her character. The opposite expression, "one-dimensional" (which means to be 1D) is used to describe people or characters that are boring or flat. Ex: The way Naomi Scott portrayed her character was multi-dimensional and interesting. Ex: The characters in this book are one-dimensional and lack depth, so I didn't even finish the book.
