student asking question

If I use the word "pursuit" against nouns, like "happiness" or "knowledge", does it have the same meaning as the noun "seeking"? If so, does "seeking" and "pursuit" are interchangeable?

"Pursuit" is similar to "seeking"! To "pursue" something means to go after something- to actively look for it. However, the word "pursuit" has more of an action-orientated tone to it than "seeking", and it implies a long journey towards having "something". The word "seeking" implies that you're looking for something, but it doesn't emphasise the purpose behind it. Ex: My pursuit of love in my life has been a tragic one. Ex: I'm seeking happiness, even if it is momentary.
