If "one's world has come down", it means that their lives have fallen apart and is no longer what is used to be. This is usually caused by an event or something happening in someone's life. A good visual image is a building being demolished or collapsing. The same way a building collapses, her life has also collapsed from what it once was. An alternative and common expression is for something to "crash down", which has the same meaning. Ex: Scott lost his job, and it's as if his whole world has come down. Ex: When I got divorced, it felt like my whole world came crashing down. Ex: My whole world came crashing down when I found out I was sick.
