So here, she's saying that she's getting carried away by her thoughts and feelings in this song. Although here, it also functions as a pun since the river is "carrying them away" in their boat - they are floating in the stream and they can't control where they are going. Ex: The river is carrying us down to the riverbank. Ex: I'm sorry, I got carried away with all the party planning. I'm just really looking forward to this party!
