"Would it help" is asking "if I were to do something, will it benefit someone or improve a situation?" In this scenario, Monica is asking if she took off her underwear, would she and Ross be able to dance on the podium. This is a very common phrase and is used quite often in daily conversation. Ex: A: I have such a headache. B: Would it help if I turned down my music? Ex: Would it help if I picked her up for you? Ex: Would it help if we came back tomorrow? Ex: A: I missed my flight. I don't know what to do. B: Would it help if I called the airline?
