What's the difference between "being bold" and "being courageous"?

To be "bold" is very similar to being "courageous", however, each of these words have slightly different nuances. To be "bold" means to take risks or to act super confidently, and to be "courageous" means to be strong, fearless, and brave. To be "courageous" implies total fearlessness, while having boldness does not always mean that one is totally fearless. Despite these differences in nuance, however, these words are very often used interchangeably.
