Sí, así es. Aquí, "see" significa "entender, diferenciar o deducir algo después de pensar, razonar y entender algo como una posibilidad". Ej: "I see now what they mean when they say it gets hotter in August than in July." = "I understand now what they mean when they say it gets hotter in August than in July." (Ahora entiendo lo que querían decir cuando decían que en agosto hace más calor que en julio.) Ej: "I can see why you'd think that, but I don't think that's quite right." = "I understand why you'd think that, but I don't think that's quite right." (Ya entiendo por qué piensas eso, pero no creo que sea del todo correcto.)
