The mention of a "spy" is Freddie's attempt at being funny and telling a joke! Perhaps he's playing on a negative stereotype of Arabs as spies or radicals. Either that or so that he can relay information to others using Arabic as a "spy." Ex: I'm pretty sure you need to learn, like, ten languages if you want to be a spy. Ex: I heard someone speaking a language I don't understand. Maybe they're a spy. => negative assumption or stereotype
