Kiwi asks…

How is it different between "follow my lead" and "follow me"?

Answer from a Native speaker

teacher

Rebecca

There is a slight difference between the two. "Follow me" might just refer to the simple action of also going to the same place, but "follow my lead" can have the meaning of "follow and copy what I do" or "do the same thing that I do." Ex: Are you going to the cafeteria too? Follow me. Ex: Follow me. We're headed in the same direction. Ex: Okay, it's a bit tricky to complete this step. Follow my lead. Ex: Follow my lead and you'll be able to finish the assignment.
